At Maker + Made, we have leveraged various email marketing platforms to help our clients craft compelling campaigns that resonate with their audiences. From small startups to established brands, the strategic use of email marketing can be a powerful channel for building relationships, enhancing customer loyalty, and driving sales.

We get asked all of the time about what platforms are best for email marketing. The answer? It depends!! So today we’ve rounded up all of the platforms we’ve liked working with and we’re listing them out with a little context to help you navigate what might be best for you.

MAILCHIMP

A great place to start with email marketing. Mailchimp is favored for it’s easy-to-navigate platform and features like automations and A/B testing. While it doesn’t offer as robust widgets and integrations as the other choices, it’s a great starting place for a business that hasn’t ever sent email before and is looking to dive right in.

Cost — Starts with a free plan; more advanced features begin at $11/month.

Mailchimp

CONVERTKIT

Ideal for content creators and small businesses, ConvertKit facilitates audience engagement through its streamlined tools, landing pages, and robust development tools. We’ve utilized ConvertKit for businesses that require a lot of segmenting in their audiences.

Cost — Free for up to 300 subscribers, with premium plans starting at $9/month.

FLODESK

Flodesk combines simplicity with elegance, making it the go-to choice for businesses that prioritize design without compromising on ease of use. Flodesk is great for the business owner that wants to do everything themselves with easy-to-use templates. When it comes to segmenting audiences or creating complicated automations, though, we’d push you towards something else.

Cost — Offers a straightforward rate of $38/month for unlimited subscribers.

KLAVIYO

A powerhouse for e-commerce, Klaviyo offers deep integration with platforms like Shopify, making it ideal for personalized, data-driven campaigns. If you’re an e-commerce based business looking to step up your game and get serious about your segmenting and targeted campaigns then this is the platform for you.
