5 social media post ideas
Running out of things to post about?? Let’s figure this out together.
When running your social media account, sometimes you run out of ideas to post and hey — it happens to the best of us honestly… so don’t get discouraged if you’re like crap, I’m stuck! Hopefully this bloggy can help provide some helpful tips to boost your ideas, establish your “aesthetic,” and basically just create more content for you.
Right now, you probably already established your following, using a social strategy, and have an aesthetic throughout your feed (where it’s either a color preset within all your photos or tiling). You’ve already exhausted some of your posts, maybe even some are repeated from way back when, but here are some ideas that maybe you haven’t tried:
Idea #1: behind the scenes
This doesn’t have to be anything extravagant, but something where your following knows a little bit more about you and/or company. For instance, on our blacksheepaperco account, we have some shots of handwritten cards, the person writing the cards, what we do on the computer, office space, etc. Literally it can be the environment that you are in, the tools that you use, and what your day to day can look like.
Idea #2: quotes and/or text based images
When I mention quotes, I don’t mean live-laugh-love cheesiness — it can be something fun as a pun, a testimonial, a quote from a movie, your favorite author, something inspirational, I mean the list is endless.. Have fun with it! As long as your graphic is cohesive with your aesthetic, then you should be fine. You can even add a little logo to make it feel more pro-fessh.
Idea #3: trends
I know trends come and go, but some can make a presence and can be valuable to your social feed. Some people like the feeling of being a part of something, a movement, being hip, and we have no place to judge! Sometimes it’s fun to do something different and be part of the now.
Right now, the ‘carousel,’ posts have been really fun and creative to see. Not sure what I’m talking about? You’ll see it in two different ways. Either it’s a post that can stretch out to 10 different posts (if working on instagram), or it’s a stream of images overlapping one another.
Idea #4: videos/reels
Depending on what your feed is about, typically you can add a fun video or now the hip new thing is making reels. This can go hand in hand with your behind the scenes posts, or it can be about traveling, a how to, showcasing a product, sports, fashion, and anything else you can think of that will grab a followers attention. Think of what videos you are interested in, and see how you can make it happen on your feed (only if it’s applicable). You can find free apps of movie edits and/or tiktok can help you create as well!
Idea #5: giveaway
Next, a giveaway. Yes, some people might think it’s tacky, but it honestly helps boost you and other companies you are collaborating with! You can showcase what you are giving away, along with featuring what the other people you are involving. This can be a combination of posts, utilizing text graphics, behind the scenes, a video, trendy posts… see what we did there? You can use all of the ideas above and make it part of your giveaway post. Maybe not all at the same time, haha. Below is an example of what product they will be giving away.
Anyone else getting inspired about what they can post, or now craving ice cream? These are just little insightful tips that have worked with us, and maybe it can work for you too. Worst thing that can happen, you don’t gain likes or shares, and you delete the damn thing and then you try again.
Bottom line, don’t be afraid to try new things. Sometimes it works out to our benefit and can make your social feed stronger.
Happy posting friends :)
